Doris Emogene Johnson

Doris Emogene Johnson, affectionately known as "Emo", a true servant of the Lord, passed away on April 3, 2018. She was born in Union City, Ind., on December 26, 1925, to Ruben H. Hime and Edith Rickert Hime. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, C.H. "Peck" Johnson and her brother Max Hime. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Diane Sneed, (Ken) of Baton Rouge, La., and Renee Cunningham of Bolder City, Nev., as well as her siblings Eugene Hime (Joan), Janet Weimer (Gene) and Marilyn Leeka; grandchildren Kimberly Deters (Bob), Jeremy Sneed (Nicole), Jimmy Cunningham and Kevin Cunningham; great-grandchildren Emily Deters, Allison Deters and Brandon Sneed, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Emo had a true servant's heart and worked in many different capacities of ministry at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church in Little Rock, where she was a member for 70 years. During that time, she taught Primary Sunday School for over 30 years, was a member of the choir, and a founding member of the committee Hearts In Service, and was always willing to serve in any area needed. She worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Calloway for 50 years until her retirement, and then continued working part time at other CPA firms until she was in her 80s. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock, on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 6-8 p.m., and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church.
