Mercedes (Merce) Markovics of Rogers, passed away on April 4, 2018 in Springdale. She was born on December 17, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late William and Wilma Greene. She attended the private Catholic school, Monte Cassino. Upon graduating from high school, she attended the U of A in Fayetteville. In her early years, Mercedes was a prodigy tennis player, accomplished horse rider, and a talented golfer. In her later years, she started doing what she loved best, being an artist. Completing of 100 pieces she had an eye for color combinations, design, and presentation. She had a long career as a realtor, working for her dad's Century 21 Company in Tulsa prior to marrying the love of her life, Bob. When the couple was transferred to Dallas in 1982, she began her banking career serving as a relocation specialist for Republic Bank. She moved into mortgage lending in 1984 and continued on that career path with Arvest Bank after the couple moved to NWA in 1987. She then moved into the title business working for WACO in Springdale. Over the years, she was recognized for outstanding customer service, a quick wit, positive attitude, and boundless energy. She could light up a room and always made people feel good at all times. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert (Bob) Markovics, Maggie the couple's collie and Gracie their Sheltie, her sister, Patti McCulloch of New York, several nephews and their families in Houston, Texas and several aunts and uncles in the Tulsa area. Mercedes will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:0AM at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.
