James Hughes

JAMES "PRUITT" HUGHES, age 64 of Mabelvale, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born February 20, 1954, in Pleasant Plains, Ark., to the late John and Lola Hughes. On February 16, 1971, he married Judy Ann Meriweather in Little Rock. Pruitt was employed with Pulaski County Road and Bridge for over 10 years until he retired in 2017. He was preceded in death by a son, Shelby, and a sister, Tressie. He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; two sons, Stephen (Carla) Hughes of Mabelvale, James (Marika) Hughes of Bauxite; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Sanders, Stephen Hughes Jr., Savanna Hughes, Rachel and Alex McCook, Peyton Hughes, Johnathan and Brittney Hughes; four great-granddaughters; five siblings, Betty Davenport, Inell Gann, Kenneth Hughes, Darrell Hughes and Roger Hughes. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, with Brother George Yarberry officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.
