Bob Nixon, 67, died on March 29, 2018 in Anacortes, Wash. Born on February 24, 1951 in Little Rock, Ark., as William Robert Nixon, Jr., he was the son of Jane Cheairs Nixon and the late Dr. William Robert Nixon. Bob was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff. In 1969 he graduated from Pine Bluff High School, where he was co-valedictorian and Student Council president. He was student body president at Vanderbilt University and earned his BA in 1973. Bob completed his law degree at Vanderbilt in 1976. He practiced commercial and bankruptcy law in Little Rock, first with Griffin Smith, Sr., and then with the Nixon, Light, and Buzbee law firm. He was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and had the highest rating in the Martindale-Hubbell peer review. Bob married Pam Nixon in 1987 and moved to Anacortes, Wash., in 2001. Bob was loved and will be greatly missed by many in his native state of Arkansas and in his adopted home of Washington. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert Nixon, and his brother Jeff Nixon. He is survived by his wife Pam; his mother, Jane Nixon; sister, Lyn Nixon Bayless (Monte); brother, Dr. David Nixon (Ann); nieces Jennifer Nixon Hubbard (Trent), Alice Nixon McClure (Tim), Carol Nixon Ricketts (Brandon), Laura Nixon, and Sally Nixon; nephews Jeff Bayless (Raychel), Tom Bayless; and six great-nieces; and three great-nephews. A memorial gathering, officiated by Reverend Steve Wingo, will be held on Saturday April 21, 11 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall at Lakeside United Methodist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark.
