William Otis Vaughn

William Otis Vaughn, 77, formerly of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in Gainesville, Georgia. Bill was born on October 23,1940, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was the only child of Otis Vaughn and Cecil Brown Vaughn. He was a 1958 graduate of Springdale High School and a 1963 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill spent over fifty years in engineering, was a licensed professional engineer in over thirty states, and was widely known for his work, especially in food manufacturing facilities. He was a Principal in the engineering firm of Vaughn, Coltrane, Pharr and Associates for the past 25 years and had offices in Arkansas and Georgia. Bill's hobbies included collecting model trains, as well as collecting and restoring classic cars. He was a member of several clubs and organizations for both and attended many local, regional and national meets over the years. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marriam Vaughn, of Gainesville, Georgia; his son, Ken Vaughn and wife, Kerri Creech, of Greensboro, North Carolina; his daughter, Amy Vaughn, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his grandchildren: Meredith Vaughn and Hayes, Kate and James Dunlevy. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved Aunt Inez Brown, and his stepson, Jeffrey Selser.
