Wayne Harris 96, of Centerton passed away Friday; April 20, 2018 in Rogers. He was born June 28, 1921 in Pea Ridge the son of Henry Lee and Cleva Belle Hall Harris. Wayne retired from the United States Postal service he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerton for 70 years and a deacon for 68 years. He served in the United States Army 84th Infantry during World War II, serving in three major campaigns Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He is preceded in death by his wife Gladys Harris; daughter-in-law Joan Harris; siblings Henry Leon Harris and V. Lucille Lawson; one grandson Clint Breedlove. He is survived by his children Robert W. Harris and friend Vendetta of Parthenon, Arkansas; Barbara Everett and husband Jon of San Diego, California; Marion Harris and wife Connie of Gravette; six grand-children; eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday; April 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Centerton. Interment with full military honors will follow at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery, Rogers. Visitation 6:30 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Centerton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Wounded Warriors.
