Twomey (Mike) Clifford Jr. of Little Rock died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the age of 88. Mike was born February 21, 1930 in Camden, Ark. to the late Twomey and Ruth (Gaughan) Clifford and is survived by his wife of 63 years, D. Kay (McCord) Clifford. He graduated Camden High School in 1948 where he was active in most sports, excelling at golf and track and field. Following high school Mike attended the University of Notre Dame and then the University of Arkansas where he played on the U of A golf team. While at the university he was a member of the SAE fraternity and coordinated and captained many intramural championship teams in all sports. After graduating in 1953 from the U of A, Mike spent two years in the U.S. Air Force and then 13 years with International Paper Co. In 1966, Mike decided to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit and started Mike Clifford Sales Co. Later he changed its name to All American Recreation and Sports Co. This enabled Mike to pursue his passion in sports and recreation. He sold all sorts of recreation and sports equipment, eventually focusing his business on resurfacing tennis courts. Mike loved playing and watching all sports, especially watching his grandchildren. He participated with his sons for 25 years in the annual Arkansas Father-Son Golf Tournament where he had his first of 4 holes-in-one. In addition to his wife Kay, Mike is survived by his sister Margaret Tomlin of Farmers Branch, Texas; son, Tom (& Mary Linn) Clifford of Richardson, Texas; son, Paul (& Beth) Clifford of Little Rock and son, Don Clifford of Little Rock; grandchildren, Chelsea Whitney, Brandon Clifford, Brittany Dunaway, Tiffany Milner, Nick Clifford, Michael Clifford, Corey Clifford and Dylan Clifford, six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Mike was preceded in death by his son, Patrick. The Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m., followed at 2 p.m. by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Jack Vu, both at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, 617 S.
