Martha Ann (Flowers) Williams, age 81, passed away at home Wednesday April 25 in Newport, Ark. She was the first born child of Edmond and Mildred (Ray) Flowers born on December 6, 1936 in Auvergne, Arkansas. She was predeceased by: infant daughter, Esther Pauline Williams; husband of over 40 years, Arlie Williams; parents, Edmond and Mildred (Ray) Flowers; brother, Donald Flowers, niece, Deborah Ann (Flowers) Mathis, grandparents: Toney & Esther (Kirkpatrick) Ray; Columbus & Clara (Anderson) Flowers, & beloved friend Ronnie McGuire. Martha is survived by two brothers: Raymond (Wanda) Flowers; Ron Flowers, Sr.; one sister: Carolyn (Gary) Mathis; one sister-in-law: Jeanette Flowers: her nieces and nephews: Terry (Kyle) Flowers Legrand Johnson, Linda (Flowers) Coles, Donnie (Melissa) Flowers, James Raymond Flowers, Edmond Flowers, Ronnie (Kim) Flowers, Shane Burris, Alex Bowen, & her special friends Pat Wadley, Rebecca Ball & Darline Gipson. Martha loved spending time with her family, her friends and her church, going to yard sales and traveling. She was a farmer's wife, lived in Newport all her life, a lifelong member of Southside Church, & attended the Pentecostal Church of God. She was a second mother to her siblings, helping them raise them their own children. She was a much loved friend to all who knew her. She will be missed & remembered forever. Pallbearers: Alex Bowen, Shane Burris, Ronnie Flowers, Jr., Jeremy Mathis, Zachary & Andrew Flowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Flowers, James & David Ray, & Gary Mathis. Visitation on Friday April 27th 6-8 p.m. at Dillinger's in Newport, with the funeral at Dillinger's Saturday, April 28th at 2 pm. Burial will be at Coffeyville Cemetery in Possum Grape, Ark.
