ROBERT BOB "RED" WARREN of Little Rock, age 85 died April 26, 2018. He was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on May 14, 1932 to Robert L. and Ruth Warren. He spent his childhood in England, Ark. He was blessed with a natural athletic ability and was involved in sports on every level, throughout his junior high and high school years. His high school coach gave him the nickname of ‘Red' which followed him throughout his life time. He then went on to The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was coached by Otis Douglas and Bowden Wyatt on a football and baseball scholarship. Robert's next adventure was to join the Marine Corps in the Special Services. He served during the Korean War. He returned to Arkansas and attended the University of Central Arkansas, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. After graduating, he became the head football coach at Westside Junior High in Little Rock, which he described as his dream job. After several years of coaching, his open and friendly personality benefited him at Capital Chemical, where he stayed for 33 years before retiring. His love of sports never died. He was a huge supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks as well as a life time member of the Razorbacks Letterman Club. He was also an avid fisherman and golfer. He was a member of Maumelle Country Club and Western Hills Golf Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother; Frank R. Warren. He is survived by his beloved wife; Suzanne Newton Warren, daughter; Paige, son-in-law; Eric Britton, two granddaughters; Alexa and McKenzie Britton. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews. And, not to forget his cat-his buddy; Tiger II. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pulaski County Humane Society or Habitat for Humanity. Visitation will be held in the Reunion Room of Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 11 am to 12 pm, a Celebration of Life will follow at noon.
