JOHN A. MATTINGLY, 96, of Little Rock, passed away April 28, 2018. He was born December 17, 1921 in Little Rock. He was the son of Thomas W. and Myrtle Frances Vick Mattingly. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Vietnam, a charter member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 810 and owner of Mattingly Furniture Company for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 1/2 years, Edna Louise Bruck Mattingly; brother, William Mattingly; sister, Ellen Dailey; and a grandson, Phillip Mattingly. He is survived by eight children, daughters, Marilyn Stiefvater (Ralph) of Hot Springs Village, Nancy Tucker (Larry) of Mabelvale, Linda Thompson of Little Rock, Rebecca Miller of Hot Springs, and Laura O'Hara (Dean) of St. Charles, Missouri; sons, John R. Mattingly (Wanda) of Mabelvale, Felton Mattingly (Rosann) of Manila, and Michael Mattingly (Judy) of Hot Springs; sister, Frances McCroskey of Little Rock; brother, Thomas Mattingly (Catherine) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 36 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and a grand dog, Lucky. Visitation will begin 6:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6219 Baseline Road, Little Rock 72209 with Father Mark Wood, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Theresa Catholic Church.
