Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ opened the doors of heaven today, July 31, 2018 to welcome Jeretta Clark Hardwick, of Bentonville, Ark., after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She entered heaven's gates surrounded by family at home, under loving, compassionate care by Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville. We are all very blessed to have had her in our lives. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and Gran to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She gave her life to the Lord as a young girl and walked with Him all the days of her life and created a strong Christian legacy for her family. Jeretta was the daughter of Clifton and Sybel Clark. She was born March 30, 1937, in Erick, Oklahoma. She met the love of her life, Horace, at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX, and they were joined in marriage June 29, 1956, in Oklahoma City. They have traveled the world together and had countless adventures. Horace's work took them from Dallas to Little Rock, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio, Kansas City, and Mexico City, finally settling in Bentonville in 1989. In Bentonville, she was instrumental in the establishment of the Circle of Life Hospice Ladies Auxiliary, "Angels Paying It Forward", and was Co-Chair with her husband of the Capital Campaign of Benton County to raise funds to build a Circle of Life home in Bentonville. She was an active member of the Bentonville Garden Club and the PEO Chapter V. Some of her happiest times were spent in working in her garden. Jeretta was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Horace; their children and spouses Kevin (Laura) Hardwick of Bulverde, Texas, and their daughters Ciana and Ekkarach Inthanom of Phuket, Thailand, and Terra Hardwick of Baton Rouge, La.; Kim (Greg) Mertes of Bentonville, Ark., and their children Jessica and Justin Kilgo of Rogers, Ark., and Justin and Sara Mertes of Kansas City, Mo.; and Kirk (Tracey) Hardwick, and their children Luke, Landon, Lacey Lynn and Genevieve Hardwick of Dallas, Texas. Her great-grandchildren are Aerina & Kaella Inthanom, with another sibling on the way, and Adeline Mertes and her soon to be born sister. There will be a visitation gathering at Callison-Lough funeral home, on August 2, 2018 from 5 to 7:30a.m. A celebration of her life will be on August 3, 2018 at Cross Church, Rogers, at 10 a.m. The celebration will be officiated by Mickey Rapier, Jim Arkins and Bob McCaslin.
