Patricia Maguire Murphy (Paddy), 65, passed on Sunday, August 12, 2018 with her family by her side at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Patrick Murphy II of Little Rock; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends. She was born on September 6, 1952 and was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frank C Maguire Jr. and Doris Willis Maguire, and her brother, Michael David Maguire all of Augusta, Arkansas. She was a 1970 graduate of Laura Conner High School in Augusta and later graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 1976. She retired in 2008 after working at the Arkansas Arts Center and then for 28 years with the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism as Director of Historical Resources and Museum Services. Patricia was force of nature and stole my heart in 1976. She always felt a real connection and love for animals. To quote Kinky Friedman on the loss of a favorite pet: "People may surprise you with unexpected kindness. Dogs have a depth of loyalty that often we seem unworthy of. But the love of a cat is a blessing, a privilege in this world. They say when you die and go to heaven all the dogs and cats you've ever had in your life come running to meet you. Until that day…" In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock and the Pulaski County Humane Society. A private interment with family is planned for Saturday, August 18, 2018. A visitation and celebration of Paddy's life will follow Saturday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. at 10 Chenal Circle in Little Rock. Cremation services are entrusted to Ruebel Funeral Home, please sign the online condolence book at www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
