Fredia Ailene Boyd Goforth, 87, of Cabot passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. She was born March 19, 1931 in Bayou Meto Township in Pulaski County to the late Jesse and Grace Abbott Boyd. Mrs. Goforth lived in Cabot all her life except for a few years in Higden. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cabot from the age of eight years old where she was a GA leader and helped with VBS. She worked at Pfeifers (fountain counter and law-a-way), Redman Motors (small fans) and Timex (camera department). She also worked at the DX station and grocery store with her husband and their brother-in-law, Dick Cole and again with her husband and one of his brothers, Claude and his wife at Goforth's Sporting Goods and Bait Shop. They retired in 1979. Following retirement, they had a large garden and sold produce from it. She loved to garden and work in the yard. Mrs. Goforth enjoyed playing golf, Bridge, going camping, reading and watching birds. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goforth was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eugene Goforth; daughter, Anita and brothers, Jeffery (one month old) and Judson. Mrs. Goforth is survived by her daughter, Teressa Robinson (Shelby) of Lamar; three grandchildren, Jason Tipton of Little Rock, Jennifer Linck of Conway and Kalli Tipton of Maumelle; two great-grandchildren, Mckinley and Beau; a sister, Juanita Cyr (Clovis) of Heber Springs; a nephew, Tommy Cyr (Linda) of Heber Springs; two nieces, Pat Cyr Hill of Whitehall and Mickie Boyd Vann of Zion Hill; step-mother, Cloyce Boyd of Cabot and a son-in-law, Keith Ihms of Bella Vista as well as several nieces and nephews on the Goforth side of the family. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Stamps and his nurse, Dee, Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock and Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Goforth's name to the library and First Care at First Baptist Church Cabot; 204 N. Third Street; Cabot, Ark. 72023. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday and First Baptist Church Cabot with Reverend Dick Avey officiating. Pallbearers will be Harold Cole, Jerry Cole, Tommy Cyr, Terry Goforth, Tim Goforth and Don Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Achten, Ted Arnett, Joey Cyr, Mike Harrod and Bobby Moyers.
