Betty Marie Turner, 89, of Springdale, Ark. passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home. Betty was born on October 22, 1928 to Mildred (Bowyer) Dennis and Orva Dennis in Wichita, Kansas. She was the widow of the late Russell Turner. Betty was the owner and operator, with her daughter, of the Turner Tax Service for 45 years. She was the secretary of the Mercy and Grace Cathedral for over 30 years and the Secretary/Treasurer for M.I.C.A. for many years. Betty was very active in her church, enjoyed shopping and was always ready to go traveling. Her family and her church were the focus of Betty's life. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Blackard and husband C.O. of Clarksville, and Millie Turner of Springdale; one daughter-in-law, Linda Turner of Springdale; one brother, Ed Dennis and wife Kathy of Garden Grove, California; 11 grandchildren, Michelle Easterling, Dustin Villines, and Duane Turner of Springdale, Brandy Furner and husband John of Rogers, Ann Miller and husband Dick of Bella Vista, Tina Stacy and husband Jeff, and Sarah Steelman of Tontitown, Jason Turner and wife Kelly, and Shawn Johnson and wife Michelle of Siloam Springs, PJ Turner of Lowell, Monica Crane and husband Dustin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Turner, two sons, Johnny Turner and Paul Turner, and five brothers. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Euel Bilderback and Pastor Larry Marler officiating.
