Louise Welch

Louise (Wolf) Welch, 89, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born to the late James Edwin Wolf and Vergia Pearl (Tracy) Wolf on December 9, 1928 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Louise was united in marriage to Bobby Lee Welch on August 7, 1948 in Salem, Arkansas. Louise was a school teacher and a basketball coach for a few years at Salem Schools and was known to many as Granny Lou. She loved all sports and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves to mourn her passing; two sons, John Ed Welch and wife Linda of Salem, Arkansas and Robby Welch of Salem, Arkansas; daughter, Fran Mitchum and husband Bob of Salem, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jeff Welch (Kacy), Jamie Martin (Seth), Justin Welch (Jessica), Casey Mitchum, Logan Welch (Heather) and Sidney Mitchum; nine great-randchildren; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (Bob Welch), son (Tim Welch), grandson, (Johnathon Welch), three brothers (James E. Wolf, Jr., John E. Wolf and Robert Charles Wolf) and parents. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Rev. Velda Bell and Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jeff Welch, Justin Welch, Bailey Benedict, Logan Welch, David Harris and Terry Langston. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Webber, Hannah McEntire, Casey Mitchum, Donald Godwin, Sonny Bray, Sidney Mitchum, Jamie Martin and Marilyn Hutson. Memorials may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
