Alice Mae Williams

ALICE MAE WILLIAMS, 80 years, of Maumelle, Ark., and formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2018 at Maumelle, Ark. She was born May 23, 1938 in Hancock County, Ill., a daughter of Walter Eli and Nellie Florence (Tompkins) Macklin. On Dec. 26, 1975, she married Henry "Hank" E. Williams in Fort Madison. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1989. Alice lived in Hancock County, Ill., for 27 years, until moving to Fort Madison in 1965. In 2007, she moved to Little Rock, Ark. She was a bookkeeper. In Fort Madison, she was a member of Empress Rebekah Lodge and of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. In Little Rock, she was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She is survived by one brother, Jack Macklin, of Little Rock, Ark.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, James and William Macklin, and one sister, Marie Vaughn. A memorial service will be held in Little Rock, Ark., at St. Andrew UMC, 1:30 p.m Aug. 26, 2018. Private family burial will be at Soldier's Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa, Sept. 24, 2018.
