Della Mae Douthit Tucker, 82, of Gentry, Ark., passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018. She was born on July 8, 1936 to Lee and Zona Douthit of Siloam Springs, Ark. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. With the arrival of her grandchildren she became Mama Del to almost everyone, and that stuck. She was an avid reader, a gifted seamstress, and a talented painter. She was funny and fun loving. She loved animals, traveling, fishing, cooking, thrifting, writing letters, working puzzles, and playing games, but nothing topped the love she displayed for her family. She adored her family, and the feeling is mutual. She had the rare gift to recognize only the good in others. She brought people together with her true servant's heart. Whether it was planning the Bingo reunions or cooking a meal to feed an army, she was one of the most generous and unselfish people this world has ever known. At a young age Mama Del trusted in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a beloved member of her women's Bible study for many years, and she was confident in the care of her Lord even during her final days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Berry Tucker Jr., siblings Marie Clark, Hubert Douthit, Eunice Rose, Valerie Tenbrook, Johnnie Douthit, Dee Owens, David Douthit, and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Pat Jones of Gentry; three children, Dee Criswell of Gentry, David Tucker (Martha) of Gentry, and Donna Hughes (Raymond) of Alexander; six grandchildren, Rob Owens (Shannon), Leslee Foreman (Tommy), Andrew Tucker (Suhana), Allison Thornton (Matt), Aimee Hubmann (Randy), and Jim Criswell Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and a large extended family who will miss her dearly. Visitation: Monday, Aug. 27th, 6-8 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Funeral service: Tuesday, Aug. 28th, 1 p.m. at North Bryant Baptist Church, Bro. Matt Thornton officiating. Graveside service to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
