Don W. Rhea

Don W. Rhea, 80, of North Little Rock, passed away August 22, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1938 in Benton, Arkansas to the late Clarence and Adell Ewell Rhea. Don spent his entire life serving others. He was the program coordinator for Our House Homeless Shelter for 20 years. After retiring, he worked several more years for Arkansas Rice Depot. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Adell Ewell Rhea; daughters: Kellie Rhea and Allison Stroud; and one baby lost in pregnancy. He leaves behind his wife, Laura Rhea of North Little Rock; sons: Robert Mark Rhea of Texas and Randy Rhea (Sophia); daughter-in-law, Buggy Rhea of Benton; grandchildren: Alex (Jessica) Stroud of Beebe, Joshua Stroud of Conway, Sara (Miles) McPherson of North Little Rock, Caleb Stroud of Mayflower, Wesley Rhea and Jessica (Jesse) Baxley of Benton, Kara and Leah Stegall of Hot Springs, and Ashley Sisco of Texarkana; and three great-grandchildren who brought him joy, smiles, and love. He died knowing his Lord Jesus Christ paid his debts in full. He fought with all the strength he had to stay every day possible to care for those who loved him. Not even his family know all the acts of generosity and kindness he performed, but what they know is amazing. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 31, at Friendly Chapel Nazarene Church, 116 S. Pine Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114. Don's request is that in lieu of flowers, you have dinner with the ones you love and enjoy them while there's time, and give at least a kind word or a cup of cold water to a stranger in need.
