Burse Elwood Sloan

Burse Elwood Sloan, 8, of Mayfield passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his home. He was born July 13, 1934 in Madison County, Arkansas to Sam Sloan and Jewel McCoy-Sloan. He loved the outdoors especially gardening, fishing and hunting. He retired from Campbells Soup after 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Junior, Henry, Virl and Norman and three sisters, Hazel, Laura Jane and Barbara. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Sloan of the home; three sons, Allen Sloan of Huntsville, Tim Sloan and wife Dian and Randy Sloan and wife Patricia both of Springdale; brother, Oren "Ed" Sloan and wife Lorene of Drakes Creek; step-son, Billy Lehman of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and several other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the New Hope Church 297 Madison 7150, Hindsville, Ark. 72738. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Chaplain Paul Woodhouse officiating. Burial will be at Joyce Cemetery. Funeral Service.
