James Perry Edwards

James Perry Edwards, age 91, passed away in Rogers on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born in Webb City, OK, on July 15, 1926 to Emmett Earl and Edith (Wells) Edwards. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years at various churches. Most recently he belonged to the Pea Ridge United Methodist Church. He was a welder most of his life. In 1971 they moved from Oklahoma to Rogers, Arkansas, where he operated TP Welding until retiring in 1986. For the following 3 years he assisted his wife in her furniture upholstery business until she also retired. He is preceded in death by both his parents and brothers, George and Earl Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons George Edwards and his wife, Hideko, of Rogers; Larry Edwards of Rogers; Robert Edwards and his wife, Edwina, of Rockwall, Texas; daughters, Jean and her husband, Tommy Carlton, of Arkoma, Okla.; Cathy and her husband, Bill Reineka, of West Fork, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on February 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, 1401 W. Hudson Road, Rogers, Ark. Casual dress is perfectly acceptable.
