Carrie Grigsby

Carrie Grigsby, 38, of Malvern, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 surrounded by family, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was born Carrie Elizabeth Beaty in Humble, Texas May 10, 1979 to Robert E. Beaty, Jr. and Deborah T. Thetford Beaty. Some of her favorite childhood memories were those spent with family, playing with her cousins in Texas and Mississippi. She attended church and accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Porter, Texas. A graduate of Humble High School, she enjoyed singing in the choir, running cross country and was voted among her peers as Most Friendly. Carrie married the love of her life, John Grigsby, on October 29, 2010 in Malvern, Arkansas. There she became a member of First United Methodist Church where she willingly served in the children's ministry and was honored with the invitation to join P.EO. Her and John's love for Colorado brought them back year after year in admiration of God's creation and cooler weather. Carrie's pride and joy were of course her children, truly miracles from God, Cheyenne Elizabeth Davis and Grant Murray Grigsby. Carrie was known for her big, beautiful, blue eyes and engaging smile. She had the ability to make people laugh and often the main event with her quick wit. She was also a peace maker, level headed and had an extraordinary gift of discernment. Through her battles with cancer, she proved to be resilient. Carrie was faithful, knowing her Savior had her in His hands no matter the circumstance. Her beautiful soul will be greatly missed here on earth, but we rejoice and are comforted knowing we will see her again. Carrie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wendell and Mary Love Thetford of Mississippi; Bobby and Pat Holder of Texas; her father, Robert E Beaty, Jr. and aunt, Becky Beaty Elbel, both of Texas. Carrie is survived by her husband, John Grigsby; children, Cheyenne Davis and Grant Grigsby; mother, Debbie Beaty Foster; siblings, David Beaty and wife Melody of Louisiana and Robbie Williams and husband Kyle of Mississippi; nephews, Wes, Beau, Colt, Ty, Wyatt and Ben; nieces, Addison, Sadie and Summer; uncles, Wayne Thetford and Todd Elbel; aunt, Tricia Beaty Keller and husband Scott; cousins, Courtney, McKenna and Kelsey; in-laws, Nancy Grigsby of Malvern, Richard Grigsby of Hot Springs, Amanda Grigsby Renteria and husband Fermin of Malvern, and numerous other family and friends. A visitation will be held at J.A. Funk Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Brothers Brad Warren and Bruce Bennett officiating.
