Margaret "Maggie" Louise Taets

Margaret "Maggie" Louise Taets, 75, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Apple Creek Nursing & Rehab in Centerton, Arkansas with her loving daughter, Monique and son-in-law, John by her side. Maggie was born October 7, 1942 in Stuart, Nebraska to David Davis and Bertha Ames-Davis. She grew up in Nebraska and Denver, Colorado, where she would meet and marry the love of her life, Monte "Buzz" Lee Taets. Maggie and Buzz were married on June 15, 1963. They welcomed their first daughter Monique in the spring of 1964 and their second daughter Michelle in the summer of 1971. The family made many states their home, including Colorado, California, Nevada, and Oklahoma. However, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was where they finally settled. At which point, Maggie worked as an office manager for a large dental practice. Those closest to her would tell you that her real job was that of a "Professional Shopper" Maggie will always be remembered as a free spirit. She had a kind, loving and caring heart who never met a stranger. Most of all, Maggie loved her family. Her most cherished role was being a grandmother until her promotion to great-grandmother in early 2013. In her tenure as the Matriarch of three loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, she would learn to go by many names; from "Grandma Maggie" to "Mimi" and finally "The Meme's'. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Monte L. Taets; her oldest daughter, Monique Parks and husband, John Parks of Bella Vista, Ark.; her youngest daughter, Michelle Broughton and husband, Jerry Broughton, II of Edmond, Okla.; her oldest grandson, Colton Parks and wife, Kelly Parks of Bentonville, Ark.; her second grandson, J.D. Broughton of Edmond, Okla.; her only granddaughter, Carlee Broughton of Edmond, Okla.; and her two great-grandchildren, Jensen and Avaleigh Parks of Bentonville, Ark. By Maggie's request, she will be cremated. The family plans to hold a celebration of her life at a later date. And though she be but little she is fierce – Shakespeare. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the countless number of people that cared for their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her battle with Parkinson's. Most importantly we wish to thank those who saw Maggie as the beautiful woman that she was, not defined by her disease. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a memorial contribution in her honor can make them to the Schmieding Center for Senior Education, 2422 N.
