FRANKIE DENNIE FULTZ was born in Johnson County, Arkansas on February 21, 1921. On February 7, 2018, fourteen days short of her 97th birthday, she departed this life at her son, Keith's home, following a brief illness. She was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church since 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Williams and Lutie Hanna Williams; husbands, Earl W. Dennie and Edwin Fultz; a son, Dr. Ronald W. Dennie; a daughter, Janice Dennie; granddaughter, April Lynn Dennie; brother, J.T. Williams, Jr.; sister, Lorene Smith; and brother-in-law, James Dennie. Frankie is survived by her son, Keith (Glenna) Dennie; daughter-in-law, Diana Rentas Dennie; sister, Lottie Dennie; grandchildren, Richard Dennie, Ron Dennie, Deidra Dennie and Lisa Ueckert; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Bella, Camila, Lars, Linus, Vega, Toren and Wilder Dennie; step-grandchildren, Roger Case, Terri Jackson, Philip Case and Cyndi Sandefur; step-great-grandchildren, Amanda Lutz, Roxanne Bates and Andrew Case; step-great-great-grandchildren, Garrett and Ava Lutz; and special nieces and nephews. Frankie graduated from Little Rock High School and attended Draughon's Business College. She married Earl William Dennie in March of 1941. To this union, three children were born, Ronald, Keith and Janice. Following Earl's death in Tulsa in October, 1987, she moved back to Little Rock. Frankie's daughter, Janice, was born with Cerebral Palsy. During this time, there were no facilities for the handicapped, so Frankie and many others worked valiantly to open a center where they could learn, play and just be with other children. They were successful in opening a center, and Frankie was honored when a center was named after her, "The Frankie Dennie Center." In 1968, she was named Woman of the Year by the Arkansas Democrat for all her work with the handicapped. Services will be Monday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Visitation will follow the service. There will be no graveside service. Memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, 2200 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72205 or to a charity of one's choice.
