Johnnie Bob "Jaybee" Alley

Johnnie Bob "Jaybee" Alley, 94, was born March 4, 1923 in New Blaine, Arkansas to Winnie and Oscar Jennings Lowrey and died February 6, 2018 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. She attended both Fort Smith and Benton, Arkansas schools before graduating from high school in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Alley was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to raise her family while living in Benton and Fort Smith. In 1969, she began working at Sparks Medical Center, Ft Smith, as the mail room supervisor. She retired from Sparks after more than 36 years of service. She moved to Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville in 2009. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ft Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years Charles P. Alley, her sons, Dr. Gary L Alley and Calvin Lowrey Alley. She is survived by her sister, Willye Stender of Fort Smith, one daughter, Trude Moore and her husband Dennis of Fayetteville, daughter in law, Marilyn Alley of Greenwood, five grandchildren: Chris Alley, Sarah Curry (Patrick) and Justin Moore (Sarah) all of Fayetteville, Duayne Alley (Rhiana) and Charles Alley (Michele) all of Fort Smith, six great grandchildren and another great grandchild due in June. A celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Smith on Tuesday, February 13 at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
