Richard Ralph Lambert, 58, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday evening, February 14, 2018 at University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center following a short illness.Richard was born August 1, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio and was the son of Ralph S. and Bernice T. (Dreysse) Lambert. He has resided in Ashland for the past 15 years moving here from Rogers, Arkansas. Richard attended Richland New Hope in Mansfield. He worked at the Adult Developmental Center for 18 years in Rogers, Arkansas.He was a member of the First Christian Church and the church choir. Richard loved taking trips to Hessel, Michigan, Myrtle Beach and Bentonville, Arkansas. He enjoyed watching Arkansas Razorback football, Ohio State football, and listening to his favorite singer, Daniel O'Donnell. He had attended many of his performances. He enjoyed bowling and while at (ADC) he won many trophy's for playing basketball in the Special Olympics. Richard never met a stranger and was always giving out free hugs. He had a great sense of Humor and made everyone smile. He is survived by his Mother, Bernice T. Lambert of Ashland, three sisters, Stephanie (Ron) Brown and Kathleen (Denis) Fox both of Ashland; Clare (Peter) Shaffer of Bentonville, Arkansas and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ralph S. Lambert; a brother, William G. Jewell and his grandparents, Richard & Anna Lambert and George & Minnie Dreysse. He will be especially missed by his good and loyal friend, Trevan Morris. Richard loved riding in Tre's truck and especially going for ice cream. Trevan's whole family grew to love and care for him. He will be deeply missed by Heather and Ray Mullins, Audrey, Hunter, Bentley and Heather's mother, Cindy Robison. They always said he was one of the family and while caring for Richard's mother, they spent countless hours doing activities and cooking delicious meals for him. Also, the best next-door neighbors, Tom and Mag Workman and their dog Bella were a huge part of Richard's life. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20. 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
