Robert Michael Lawyer

Robert Michael Lawyer, 71, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Mike was born to the late Robert F. Lawyer and Vera Colvin Lawyer on February 18, 1946 in Popular Bluff, Missouri. Mike was a graduate of Harding University. He was blessed with a large and loving family; he married Martha Lynn Lawyer in 1990. He was a dedicated father to his six children, Robert, Janessa, Jacob, Lesley, Emma and Mary Catherine and encouraged them to seek God. He was a member of Wynne Baptist Church. Mike worked for State farm Insurance in Forrest City and Wynne for45 years, former President of Life Underwriters, member of Rotary and the Forrest City Country Club. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Mike is survived by his wife, Martha Lynn of the home, sons Robert Michael Lawyer and wife C. Lynnette of Houston, Texas, Jacob T. Paddock and wife Cassandra of Wynne, daughters, Lesley Paddock Scates of Loveland, Colorado, Emma Shayne Lawyer and Mary Catherine Lawyer of the home, brother, David Lawyer and wife Genny of Searcy, Arkansas, grandchildren, Michael Moore of Searcy, Arkansas, Ian Moore Of Murray, Kentucky, Samuel Moore and Julia Moore of Somerville, Tennessee and Zoe Lawyer of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Vera Lawyer and his daughter, Janessa Lawyer Moore in 2016 and brother, Dr. Richard Lawyer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Wynne Baptist Church from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10 AM at Wynne Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cherokee Village.
