Robert Lee Jones, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born July 9, 1936 in Scottsville, AR to Max and Mary Jones. He was reborn as a teenager after the family had moved to Whittier, CA, when he gave his life to the Lord at a Billy Graham crusade. Robert had many jobs throughout his long life, but his greatest fulfillment came from being a pastor and doing mission work in California and Arkansas. He loved sitting on his deck reading the Bible or listening to Bluegrass. He was a walking sports encyclopedia, but was a passionate Braves, UCLA Bruins, and Razorback fan. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carrell. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love in his family and his wife, Karen of 53 years; a brother, Gaylon Jones and wife, Carol of Coronado, Calif.; one son, Tim Jones and wife, Afsoon of Conroe, Texas; three daughters, Juli Giorgianni of Richmond Hill, Ga., Janet Gardner and husband, Kent, and Kimberly Murie and husband, James all of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren, Ariana, Shelby, Calla, and Owen Jones, Chloe, Sophie, and Maya Giorgianni, and Max, Zachary, and Samantha Gardner. A celebration of his life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, January 15, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, 1301 N. Gregg Ave in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to World Vision or Gideons International. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers.
