Charles O. "Chief Chuck" Johnson, age 77, of Prattsville, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was born September 3, 1940 in Benton, Arkansas. Charles retired as a Navy Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service and was a member of the American Legion Post #19. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Zony Johnson; three brothers, Shelby, Edward and Bill Johnson; three sisters, Inez Brown, Gloria Jean and Zella Mae Witham; son-in-law, Tracy Love; grandson, Nicholas Williams and a great-granddaughter, Kaise Williams. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Bea Johnson; two sons, George A. Williams (Kathleen) and Olen Dale Williams; two daughters, Katie Love and Angela Bright; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Williams, Olen Williams, David O. Williams, Johnnie Bright, Brandon Love, Brian Love, Patrick McQuary and Christian Williams. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 22 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 23 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park. Doris Kaufman will be officiating. Family Comments: Charles was a man of very few words. He was very loved and respected. Charles had three grandchildren that followed in his footsteps into the Navy. He will be greatly missed.
