Jo Nell Townsend

Jo Nell Townsend, 89, of Rose Bud, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Southridge Nursing Home in Heber Springs. She was born May 5, 1928, in Romance, Ark., to the late William and Lucille (Rogers) McKay. Jo Nell was a hairdresser for 45 years. She loved to garden and even enjoyed putting up all the garden produce, whether it was freezing it or canning it. She enjoyed being outdoors raising flowers, keeping her yard up and taking her daily walk. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Danny Townsend (Debbie) of Rose Bud, and Gary Townsend (Marilyn) of Rose Bud; one daughter, Diane Apple (Larry) of Batesville; one brother, Dewayne McKay of Hayti, Mo.; one sister, Billy Jean McCann of Datto, Ark.; five grandsons, Chad Townsend, Thad Townsend, Dustin Townsend, Brad Apple, and Brandon Apple; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 22, from 6-8 p.m at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
