Deklan Hicks McKee was healed and went to his forever home in heaven on January 23rd, 2018 after a long battle with CDH and CHD. He was born on July 11, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Deklan's name means "man of prayer" and this was perfectly fitting for him because this baby brought so many people to their knees. People from many different faiths, people from all over the world, came together with Deklan's family and friends to pray. These prayers were heard and answered when God blessed us with six months and twelve days to love this precious baby. He is survived by: his loving parents, Jason and Tiffany Hicks McKee; his sister, Julia McKee; a special aunt, Izabelle Ward; maternal grandparents, Tammy Ward, Ron and Connie Hicks; paternal grandparents, Ken McKee, Tim and Sharon McMinn; maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Helen Poe, Ronnie and Sue Hicks; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Wingo; maternal great-great-grandmother, Julia Hicks; maternal aunts, Alicia (Kyle) Gardner, Jessica (Heath) Futrell; maternal uncle, Nathan (Stacy) Barber; paternal aunt LeAnn (Rick) Beckwith; paternal uncles Brian (Briar) McKee, Jimmy (Stacey) McMinn, Timmy (Lori) McMinn and numerous cousins. Everyone who met Deklan was mesmerized by him. He had the most beautiful round face that displayed deep dark eyes that many said could tell stories. However, his "squishy" cheeks and perfectly kissable, sweet lips were the first things people noticed about him. Deklan impacted many, many lives in his short time here on Earth. He will forever be in our hearts. We would like to express our love and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all medical staff who cared for Deklan. We are especially thankful for Dr. David Kays and staff at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida for fighting so hard and never giving up. If you would like to read about Deklan's journey you can follow us on Facebook at Deklan's CDH and CHD Journey. Funeral Services will be at Moore's Funeral Home in Cabot, Arkansas on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Visitation will start at 12 noon with the celebration of life following at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Deklan's Team Foundation at Centennial Bank or www.paypal.me/DeklansTeam.
