Myrtle Standridge Bradshaw

Myrtle Standridge Bradshaw, a longtime resident of Wynne, passed away peacefully at her home on January 24, 2018. She was born September 15, 1922 to Lester and Elvia Standridge in Mt. Ida, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Afton Bradshaw, two sisters, Norma Standridge and Maurita Stroope, and one brother, Fred Standridge, one sister-in-law, Lestal Standridge. Myrtle is survived by son, Jerry Bradsahw (Cathy) of Wynne, daughter, Sarah Bradshaw (Joe Musgrove) of Little Rock. She leave two grandchildren, Stan Bradshaw (Beth) of Wynne, Sarah Jane Martin (Cade) of Jonesboro, two step-grandchildren, Helen Halbert (Chuck) of Lexa and Chris Gibson (Page) of Little Rock, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She had two special people in her life, Murray and Ken Johnson of Wynne. She is also survived by her sister, Jocelyn Ford (James) of Russellville, brother, Harold Standridge of Mt. Ida, her sister-in-law, Lois Standridge and many nieces and nephews. Myrtle and Afton moved to Wynne in 1960. She worked many years in the Wynne School System as secretary to the superintendent and as the school bookkeeper. After her retirement she became very active in community, civic and charitable work, including Red Cross blood drives, PEO, The Town & County Volunteer of the Year in 2007 by the Chamber of Commerce. Myrtle loved all things tiny, just about any flower, to cook for and feed anyone and everyone, all shades of pink, her church Wynne First Methodist and her family and many friends. The family would like to thank her wonderful care givers Teresa Michael, Alicia Wreford and Kathy Hernandez for their loving service to her and Legacy Hospice. A memorial service will be held on January 27, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Wynne First United Methodist Church, a Celebration of Life reception will follow in Martha Murray Hall. a Private internment will take place in the Mt. Ida at Stanley/Standridge Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wynne First United Methodist Church Choir or to the Cross County Workshop.
