JOHN WILLIAM OWENS, 93, of Little Rock passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. He was born Sept. 16, 1924 in Little Rock to Bernard and Rose Foulkes Owens. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 67 years Marjorie Owens as well as two sisters, Julie Winget and Mary Russell and two brothers Raymond Owens and Dr. Bernard Owens. He is survived by his nephews John R. Owens of Little Rock, Richard Winget (Dalores) of Pennsylvania and Jimmy Winget (Jodie) of Florida and his nieces Rose Mary Brenner of Virginia and Julia Dennis of Tennessee as well as extended family and friends. He was a drummer early in life and traveled often playing in bands which is how he met his beloved wife "Marge" they spent many happy years together traveling, visiting lakes in Arkansas and National Parks across the country, he was also an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He served his country in the Army during WW ll and was a long time member of the Optimist Club. He was of Episcopalian faith. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at 9 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock.
