Helen Kay Batey Schaefer

Helen Kay Batey Schaefer, 70 passed away on January 27, 2018 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Ark. surrounded by loved ones. Helen was born December 9, 1947 in Blytheville, Ark. to Thelma and Bill Batey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Bill Batey; brothers, Herbert Batey, Billy Ray Batey, Jessie Louis Batey; sisters, Shirley Hawthorn and Eva Jo Weir. She is survived by her loving companion, David Huffman of the home; two sons, Bobby Phillips of Mizoula, Mont., Shep (Erin) Schaefer of Tallahassee, Fla.; two daughters, Jeannie (Mark) Blaney of Nokomis, Fla., Sonia Schaefer of Tallahassee, Fla.; stepson, Adam Huffman of Paradise, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cathey (Ron) McCullough of Heber Springs, Becky (Joe) Wyland of Pocahontas; one brother, Doyle (Deborah) Batey of Beebe, Ark.; along with many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. with Doyle Batey officiating. Burial will follow in Gravesville Cemetery.
