WANDA GAY CHILD, 87, of Little Rock, formerly of Sherwood and Oppelo, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was born on June 17, 1931 to the late James Josiah "Joe" Daniel and Rose Arlin Bell in Tokio, Ark. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Danvers Child, Sr.; and siblings, Tessie Stueart, Willy Pauline "Bill" Kidd, Bernice Sleeker, Bessie Hilfiker, Helen Ruth Daniel, Mary Jo Daniel, Luke Daniel, Olin Daniel and twin brother, Ray Daniel. Gay enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening. Her love of nature also led her to Petit Jean Mountain, where she spent years working at both the Museum of Automobiles and Winrock International. She loved Christmas and was famous for her holiday parties. Known for a wonderful smile with which she greeted one and all, Gay will be missed by her family and community. Gay is survived by her daughter, Lisa Child Bruno (Jay) of Little Rock; son, Robert Danvers Child Jr. (April) of Lafayette, Ind., beloved daughter-in-law, Kathy Child; three grandchildren: Robert Bruno (Suzi), Tyler Child (Hailey), Kaitlin Gbur (Mark); three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and more. We wish to thank the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab staff and the Arkansas Hospice staff for their kind, caring support to Gay and to our family. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Ark., 72116. Reverend Jay Bruno will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Restland Memorial Park in Nashville, Ark., at 3 pm.
