Margaret Hines Koon

Margaret Hicks Hines Koon of Sheridan, Arkansas was born in Bruce, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Monroe Harrison Hicks and Edna Ellen Schoggin Hicks. She was a devoted member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan, where she was active in the Grace Sunday School Class and the OWLS Club. She was an avid golfer, and a member of the Sheridan Ladies Golf Club. Ms. Koon died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace Hines and Raymond J. Koon, brothers, Charles Hicks, Darnell Hicks and sister, Joyce Cantrell. Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Zoe Hines of Sheridan; step-daughters, Sandi Garrett of Conway; Pati Miller of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Janna Koon of Sheridan; sister, Delores Beck of Prattsville, grandson, Scott and wife Audra Gillis Hines of Sheridan; two great-granddaughters, Wesley Kay and Taylor Scott Hines of Sheridan; step-grandchildren, Kati Jones, Todd Miller, Maggie Garrett, Chance Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan, with Bro. Shawn Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
