Polly Nicholson Sharp

Polly Nicholson Sharp of Newport passed into paradise on Friday, July 6, 2018, to wait for her Savior, Jesus Christ. Polly was the daughter of Neal and Ruby Nicholson. She was preceded in death by Gene Sharp, her beloved husband of over 50 years; a loved sister Doris Nicholson Williams and two nephews Jimbo Williams and David King. She is survived by four sons Eddie Neal Sharp (Karen), Ray Ford Sharp, Eugene Christopher Sharp Jr., and James D. Nicholson Sharp (Nicole); two grandsons Neal Nicholson Sharp and David Ray Sharp; step-grandchildren Summer George; Cammy and Carol; and Joseph, Julian, Jonathon, Chloe and Cora. She is also survived by her sister; Patsy Nicholson King (Carroll) and her family; Billy, Michelle, Hanna, Jason, Nicki (Matt), Darby, and Delilah; her niece; Maggy Williams Sutherland and her family; Tyler, Kristy, Sam, Summer, Mila Jo and Sydney; her nephew; Brandon Williams, a special care-giver; Crissy Morrison and special sister-in-law; June Sullivan (Dub), and special friends; Jeanine Walton and Connie Waters. As an active lifetime member of the Newport Disciples of Christ First Christian Church, Polly was an Elder, taught Sunday School and Children's time and held various state offices in the Arkansas Disciples Women Organization. The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice-Batesville for the wonderful care and love they provided for Polly.
