William Grant (Bill/Hubba) Newman, Jr., age 72, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. Bill was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on November 24, 1945. He attended St. Edwards High School in Texarkana, Arkansas and received a BBA from East Texas State University. He also served four years in the United States Air Force as an Air Policeman. Ultimately, he settled on a successful lifetime career in Investment Banking and Municipal Bond Business. Bill loved flying his Piper Dakota Plane. He was an avid horseman, who adored his family, friends, dogs and golf. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Elaine Newman, and his sister, Willaine Aycock. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry, his sister Bernadette Gerrald, and his two daughters and husbands, Angela and Adam Blanks and Ashley and Justin Sutton. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Evan, Avery, Gracie and Brendon, as well as beloved nieces and nephews. Bill touched so many lives with his selflessness and need to help others. He brought joy, tears, laughter, and love to everyone he met. A memorial service will be held at Christ of the Hills Methodist Church, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Diamante Country Club, Hot Springs Village, Ark. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Bill's name.
