Raymond Jones Jr.

Raymond Jones Jr., 86, of Sherwood, passed away July 17th, 2018. He was born February 16th, 1932 to the late Elgie and Ila Marie Jones. He is preceded in death by his sister, Loretta M. Renuard-Hawkins. Survivors include wife, Flo Ann Jones, two sons, Raymond "Butch" Jones, III (Renee) of Westlake, La. and Daniel Ray Jones of Ranch Cucamonga, Calif., one daughter, Tammy (Gary) Southerland of Jacksonville, Ark.; three grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Jones of Oklahoma, Chad Jones of Westlake, La.; one granddaughter, Savannah Rae Southerland of Jacksonville, and three great-grandchildren of Westlake, La. Raymond was the former owner of Model Market of Jacksonville in the 1950's and 60's, was a Bail Bond agent for 40 years, and was a Korean War veteran proudly serving in the Army and Marine Corps. He was a 1st Master Mason of Magnolia Lodge #60, was a member of the Knights Templar of Little Rock, Ark., a member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple and a 32nd degree Scottish Right Mason. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., July 21 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home, (7700 Hwy. 107) where there will also be a visitation Friday evening, July 20, from 6-8 p.m. Entombment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Jacksonville following services.
