Helen Elizabeth Langston

Helen Elizabeth Langston, 85, of Bigelow went to be with Lord, July 18, 2018. She was born on November 27, 1932 in Bigelow, Arkansas a daughter of George Shamblin and Leathie (Jesse) Sowell. She was the widow of J.W. ("Poss") Langston, retired from CHDC after many years of service, and was a member of Bigelow Baptist Church. Helen was a meticulous housekeeper and cook, always prepared for anyone who stopped by with a loaf of banana nut bread or if you were lucky, pecan brittle. She welcomed all to her home especially those who called her Momma, Grandma or Aunt Helen. She is survived by her sons, Darrell Langston, Dennis (Rita) Langston, both of Bigelow; daughter-in-law, Cindy Langston of Perryville; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Dale Langston; granddaughter, Magen Elizabeth Langston; brother, George "Sonny" Shamblin; and sister, Katherine West. Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Volman Cemetery in Bigelow with Bro. James Wilson officiating.
