Marion Bernice Martin

Marion Bernice Martin, 89, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died peacefully July 22, 2018 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born February 26, 1929 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Harold and Emilie (Trenkler) Greinke. Marion attended Walther Luther High School in Melrose Park and graduated from Proviso East in Maywood, Illinois in 1947. She met Paul Pennell Martin in 1945 and they married on June 25, 1949. Together they resided in Kansas City, Missouri, Springfield, Missouri, Decatur, Illinois and Olathe, Kansas before retiring to Bella Vista in 1994. She worked as a secretary for Hearst Publication in Chicago and later in Decatur, Illinois public schools. Marion loved music and began voice and piano lessons at a young age, singing in choirs and playing piano her entire life. She blessed others with her musical gifts. She was a long time member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church giving of her time where needed. Marion was a joy and blessing to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, her husband of 68 years Paul Martin and her son-in-law. Marion is survived by her children, Crystal F. Martin, Bella Vista, Gregory P. Martin (Chris), Houston, Texas, Heather Robertson, New Windsor, Maryland; five grandchildren, Emily Martin, Houston, Texas, Katelynn Martin, Dallas, Texas, Christopher Barry (Megan), Westminster, Maryland, Alyssa Garcia (Ozzie), Fayetteville, NC, Casey Barry, Juneau, Alaska; and one great-granddaughter, Piper. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with a memorial service following at 2 p.m., Friday, July 27th at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Arkansas.
