Helen Carmack Reeves, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, died on July 24, 2018 at the age of 92. Mrs. Reeves died of the complications of aging while under the comforting care of hospice. She is preceded in death by her husband J. Ralph Reeves, one sister and five brothers. Helen attended Mount Saint Mary Academy and worked for Rock Island Railway and a munitions factory in Philadelphia to help in the war effort for several years before settling into the role of wife and mother. Helen's proudest accomplishment was the rearing of her four daughters: Becky Berry Stanfield (Paul) of Austin, Texas, Karen Hicks, Debbie Butler (Bob) and Lindy Streit (Don) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, all of whom survive her. Along with an endearing sarcastic manner and a biting wit, Helen imparted her considerable tenacity and toughness to all her daughters, who have all described her as the "toughest woman they had ever known." All who have had the good fortune to spend any time with any of the "Reeves Girls", as the daughters were infamously known and lumped together, will recognize that they all possess the toughness and humor of their mother. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris Berry, Andrew Berry, Brad Hicks, Amy Hicks Finks, Jeremy Bakalekos, Gemma DiTommaso Deloney and Joseph DiTommaso and was blessed to have nine great grandchildren living throughout the United States in Nashville, Tennessee, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7000 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, North Little Rock, Arkansas and a Mass will be held in her honor there, in the chapel on Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. There will be a private family gathering after the service. The family would like to express their profound thanks for the compassionate and gentle care provided by Kindred Hospice and Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation. Anyone wishing to honor memories of Helen may do so by donations to Kindred Hospice and/or by pouring out one for Helen as they drink their next Busch Light, Helen's refreshment of choice.
