Craig D. Cowger, of Centerton, Ark., passed away June 5, 2018 at his home. He was born November 6, 1949 in Bentonville to Vol and Barbara (Short) Cowgur. Craig graduated from Bentonville High School in 1969. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He received Vietnam service medals with four bronze service stars; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, and was also an expert Rifleman. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, wife ,Martha, and brother, Kip Cowgur. He is survived by his wife Linda Carte Cowger of the home; one daughter, Rachel Norton (Troy); two sons, Richie Cowgur (Deanne) of Centerton, Matt Cowgur of Southwest City, Mo.; three step-daughters, Barbara Christie of the home, Carol Parker (Jamie) of Centerton, Christy Carte (John Baker) of Rogers; two step-sons, Mike Carte (Tammy) of Prairie Grove, David Carte of Centerton; eleven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; one brother, Kim Cowgur of Bentonville; one sister, Connie Morrow of Gravette; one niece, Anna Cowgur of Gravette, who was very special to Craig; two very dear friends, Roger and Judy Lee of Centerton; as well as many family and friends. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. 72715 with a graveside to follow directly after at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
