Robert R. Bechtelheimer

Captain Robert R. Bechtelheimer, SC, USN, RET., of Rancho San Diego, Calif., died June 2, 2018. He was born on May 13, 1932 in Camden, Ark., the son of the late Margie and Cletus Bechtelheimer. After graduating from Southern State College in 1954, he entered the U.S. Navy as a Supply Corps Officer. While in the Navy he was awarded, a Legion of Merit with a Gold Star. After his discharge, he was employed by Rockwell Space Division Credit Union in Downey, Calif. for 15 years, and retired as its President in 1995. He was preceded in death by his grandson Cole He is survived by his wife Dottie and his sons, Robert Russell Jr. (Gay), James David (Kathy), John Charles (Mollie) and daughter, Lisa Ann Foster, his grandchildren, Trey, James, Robert, Anna, Sean, Zach, Nathan and five great-grandchildren. Military graveside services will be held at Miramar National Cemetery.
