JC Franks, 89, of Searcy, passed from this life to his heavenly home on June 12, 2018. He was born in Merryville, Louisiana on July 13, 1928 to Tom and Myrtie (Cochran) Franks. He graduated from Merryville High School in 1946. He married the love of his life, Winifred Hebert, in 1950. They lived and raised their three daughters in Lake Charles, Louisiana where JC worked and retired from Firestone. In 2005, the couple moved to Arkansas to be near the girls and their families. JC was a student of the Bible & an elder at the Boulevard Church of Christ in Lake Charles. "Paw Paw" as he was known by the grandkids was famous for backyard adventures and gardening as well as being a vivid storyteller of his experiences growing up at "The Old Place". He had recorded 3 volumes of nearly 200 stories at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Winifred (Hebert) Franks; two daughters, Carol Franks and Terri (Franks) Fielder and her husband Barry, and son-in-law Mike Graul; eight grandchildren, Amy Bell and husband Mac, Bradley Franks and wife Sarah, Ben Graul and wife Jodi, Bonnie Thomas and husband Jeff, Jamie Jerkins and husband Michael, Lindsey Fisher and husband Zach, Brett Fielder and wife Meredith, and Abby Harwell and husband Craig. He was also a playful comedian for his 12 great-grandchildren. JC was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Myrtie Franks; two brothers, Leslie Franks and Curtis Franks; two sisters, Euna Butler and Erma Hanson; and his daughter, Patty Graul. Visitation is Saturday at 2 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ. Interment will be at White County Memorial Gardens.
