Joseph Francis Casanova

Joseph Frances Casanova, 90 of Little Rock passed from this life on June 24, 2018. He was born June 8, 1928 in Hurley, Wisconsin to the late Anthony and Olga Laakonen Casanova. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 26 years. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, receiving a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for his dedicated and heroic service. He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Elizabeth York Casanova; siblings, Shirley Bolger and Bucko Casanova. Survivors include children, Michael (Becky) Casanova of Little Rock, Pam Higgs and Patti Casanova both of Sherwood; grandchildren, Justin Higgs, Anthony Scott Anderson, Christin Jane Peck, Matthew James Casanova; great grandchildren, Aidan Anderson and Harper Higgs. Other survivors include siblings, Robert (Alma) Casanova of San Antonio, Texas and Dennis (Helen) Casanova of Austin, Texas long with a host of extended family and friends. Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date. Joseph will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
