Bobby Ray Boston

A loving husband, a precious and devoted father and grandfather, Bobby Ray Boston of Humphrey passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Crestpark Nursing Home from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Bobby was born July 22, 1935, in Earle, Ark., to Thomas and Alice Boston. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Bobby served with pride for his country, honor for his family and duty for his fellow soldiers. Upon his return home he fell in love and married Carolyn Ferguson. They raised their children in the Baptist faith. Bobby worked as a foreman for Riceland Foods and as a maintenance man at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital, as well as, doing local handyman work. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He loved being outdoors but enjoyed witnessing and fellowshipping with others about Christ including traveling on numerous mission trips to Mexico. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, J.T. Boston, Alta Ellison, Tresalee Frye, Monett Webb, JoAnn McCullars, Madeline Sooter, Millie Huey, Carl Boston and J.W. Boston; a son-in-law, Kenn Dooley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby is survived by his wife of 60 years Carolyn; their children, Nickey Boston (Linda) of Black Oak, Rickey Boston of Grand Prairie, Texas, Vickie Dooley of Stuttgart and Mickie Swaim (Shane) of Cabot; 10 grandchildren, Kirk Boston, Amber Boston, Krystal Langdon (Sam), Scott Boston (Gloria), Alyssa Swaim, Blake Boston, Skylar Swaim, Avery Swaim, Jaxon Swaim and Ryder Swaim; nine great-grandchildren, Alana, Connor and Luke Boston, Jordenn and Aaron Johnston, Lacie and Bryson Langdon and Ashlyn and Millie Boston; brother, Gene Boston (Ginger); and sister, Shirley Sooter (Lloyd). Funeral services, officiated by Bro. David Webb, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home with burial following in Bayless Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home.
