Bernadine Benson

Bernadine Strickland Benson, 84, of Bella Vista, Arkansas went to heaven on Tuesday February 13, 2018. Surrounded by her children, she passed peacefully at home. Bernadine was born on August 29, 1933 in Denton, Texas to Bernice and Paul Strickland. She is survived by one sister, Paula Salzmann and one brother, Douglas Ray Johnston; her children, Lisa Lockwood, Marcia Lang, Wes Thigpen, Linda Killingbeck and her step-daughter Erica Benson Bench; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bernadine was a professional artist & worked at Hallmark. She went on to get her Master's Degree and become a licensed marriage & family therapist. Bernadine reflected the beauty in nature as a master gardener. Most of all, she was a remarkable mother and was an incredible example for her family. She will be missed by her family, friends, and this world, but her spirit will be carried on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. A Memorial Service & celebration of her life, will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. on Saturday, March 24th at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to: Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, Circle of Life Hospice or Bella Vista Animal Shelter.
