Iva Harriette Rogers Laird, 99 of Little Rock passed away, March 22, 2018. She was born June 28, 1918 in her grandmother's front bedroom in Taylor County, Texas. Upon finishing high school, Harriette attended Abilene Christian College to become a teacher. In 1949, she married Joe Willard Laird and became a valuable asset to his work of teaching and preaching the gospel for Churches of Christ throughout Oklahoma. As Joe's health declined, they moved to Iowa Park, Texas to be near family. Harriette was able to return to the teaching that she loved. In 2004, she moved to Little Rock to be with Angel's family. She remained active in Pleasant Valley Church of Christ's lady's classes and worshiped through her mid-90's. She enjoyed friends and living at Parkway Village. The family would like to thank the parkway staff and Lisa Davis for always making Harriette feel like Little Rock was her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Joe Willard Laird; an infant child; daughter, Angela Laird Brenton of Little Rock, age 60; adopted son, Joe David Laird, age 38; parents; one brother; and one sister.
