Maurice Almond Sagely, 91 of Van Buren passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 in his home. He was a retired school superintendent for Lonoke School District in Lonoke, Arkansas. He was a World War II Army Veteran and the former owner and manager of the Cedars Country Club in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by two sisters Edith Opal Sagely and Jewel Ridenour and two brothers J.C. and Kenneth Sagely. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2018 at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren with cremation to follow the service. He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years Nancy Sagely of the home; two daughters Stephanie McCullar and her husband Joe of Chesterfield, Missouri and Scarlett Perry and her husband Randall of Statesville, North Carolina; one brother Floyd Sagely and his wife Jimmie of Fort Smith; four grandchildren Jeff and Sage McCullar, Ashlee and Scott Perry; two great-grandchildren Jake and Connor McCullar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Lansdell, Benton Cone, R.W. Ocker, Earl Robinson, Bill Wyatt, Mike Hurst and Oscar Parrish.
