DANIEL J. HORNADAY, 89 of Little Rock, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 25, 2018. He was born March 4, 1929 in Fordyce, Ark., to John W. and Nora M. Wright Hornaday. He was a graduate of Fordyce High School and later graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He was a retired accountant for Exxon Mobil, where he worked for 41 years. He served in the National Guard, enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Cruce Hornaday; sisters, Marseille Smith, Virginia Bradberry and Maggie Hornaday; and brothers, Utah Hornaday and Benoid Hornaday. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Hornaday of Little Rock; and sister, Joyce Packard of Waco, Texas. He was loved by his nieces and nephews, and in later years, he served as caregiver and family patriarch, giving advice and assistance when needed. Funeral service officiated by Reverend Rick Jaggars will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark., 501-224-8300. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce.
